Terms of Service

Last updated October 8, 2026. Looking for how we handle your data? Read the Privacy Policy.

Welcome to Ducky Finance. These terms are the agreement between you and Ducky Finance (“we,” “us”) for the use of our website, lessons, newsletter, and any other content or service we offer (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Services.

We’ve written this in plain English on purpose. Plain English is still binding.

1. We teach. We don’t advise.

Everything on Ducky Finance is educational and general in nature. It is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or other asset. We don’t know your personal financial situation, and nothing here is tailored to it.

Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of the money you invest. Past performance never guarantees future results. Examples in our lessons and posts (fictional companies, sample trades, round numbers) are there to explain a concept, not to suggest a strategy. Before making any financial decision, consider talking to a licensed professional who knows your circumstances.

Ducky Finance is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser, or financial institution, and we are not registered as any of those.

2. Who can use the Services

Anyone can read the free parts of the site. To buy lessons or subscribe to the newsletter, you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. If you are under 18, you may use the free content with a parent or guardian’s permission.

3. Buying lessons

Right now the lessons are free. The rest of this section applies only if and when we start charging for them.

4. Subscribing to the newsletter

5. Payments

Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full card number. The processor’s own terms apply to the payment itself. Taxes may be added at checkout where the law requires it.

6. Your content and your conduct

When you send us a question, a comment, or a message through the contact form, you give us permission to use it to respond to you and to improve the Services. If you’d like us to feature a question in the newsletter, we’ll ask first and we won’t use your full name without permission.

Please don’t:

7. Our content is ours

The lessons, newsletter, blog posts, illustrations, Ducky, and everything else on the site are owned by Ducky Finance or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the content for your own learning. We keep every other right.

If you want to quote a short passage with a link back to us, that’s fine. If you want to use more than that, email us and ask.

Our site may link to other websites and may use third-party services to deliver email, process payments, host content, or handle forms. We don’t control those services and aren’t responsible for what they do. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

9. Availability and changes

We may add, change, pause, or retire parts of the Services at any time. We try to keep the site available, but it may be down for maintenance or reasons outside our control, and we don’t promise it will always be available or error-free.

10. Ending your access

You can stop using the Services at any time, and you can cancel the newsletter as described above. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, with or without notice, depending on how serious the breach is. If we end access to paid lessons for a reason that isn’t your fault, we’ll refund you a fair portion of what you paid.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee that the content is complete, accurate, or current, or that using it will lead to any particular financial outcome.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Ducky Finance will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost savings, or investment losses, arising from your use of the Services, even if we’ve been told such damages are possible.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $50 if you paid us nothing.

Some places don’t allow these limits. Where that’s the case, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

13. Disputes

If you have a problem, email us first. Most issues can be fixed with a conversation, and we’ll try to resolve any dispute informally within 30 days.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can’t be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects paying customers, we’ll also email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the new terms.

15. The small print

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You can’t transfer this agreement to anyone else; we may transfer it if the business changes hands.
